Clare Family Learning Project
Clare Family Learning is probably Ireland’s most prolific organisation involved in family learning. The project was developed as a pilot project in 1994 by parents attending literacy classes who requested help with their children’s homework. The initial project was developed by Clare Adult Basic Education Service. Since then, the project has developed in to a full organisation based around helping to support parents helping their children’s emerging literacy and numeracy skills. They have published quite extensively nationally and internationally (https://www.clarefamilylearning.org/tutors/published-resources/) and they have been involved in EU projects in the area (https://www.clarefamilylearning.org/tutors/involvement-in-eu-projects/). Some of their key outputs include:
– A Clare Family Learning Resource Pack
– Clare Family Learning Project six minute Family Learning DVDs
– Family Learning in Action report
– Helping Children Do Well in School (2011) project
