This guide was created in 2001 at the same time as the updating of the national charter of the accompaniment to the schooling in order to complete it. Conceived in a partnership way, this guide was written and co-signed by five ministries: The Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth, the Ministry of Employment and the Ministry of the City.
This guide, which is aimed at schoolchildren between the ages of 6 and 16, identifies and shares a lot of what has been undertaken at the local level. It is intended for every stakeholder involved in school attendance, from school counsellors who supervise children and young people, to members of departmental committees within the framework of the Local Contract of Accompaniment to Schooling. Through several concrete thematic sheets, built from field experiences, divided into 5 categories:
– Understand the accompaniment to schooling.
– Identify the actors of the accompaniment to schooling.
– Organize the accompaniment to schooling.
– Observe and evaluate.
It aims to enable all the stakeholders involved in educational support to ask themselves questions about their practice and thus improve the quality of the support offered.
