Family and School: Program to imply families to contribute to maintain scholars into the Education System

Program executed from July to December from 2015, aimed at non-nationals families with a residence permit in Spain. The organization in charge to implement this program is the Association Rumiñahui and it is co-financed by the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Directorate-General for Migration depending on the Ministry for Education, Culture and Sports of the Spanish Government. It has been executed in two regions: Madrid and Murcia. Target beneficiaries were 105 parents (80% women). Indirect Beneficiaries were 258 students. The main actions aimed at immigrant parents were: elaboration of a tutorial action plan, workshops on educational guidance and social and educational skills and competences (including ICT), family counselling and the constitution of support groups. Activities aimed at immigrant students were workshops which purpose was to train educational basic competences at school (like social skills in educational environments, educational support in reading, Mathematics and Sciences, …)
