From school to “educative city-state”

The French politician Jean-Louis Borloo handed out on 26th April 2018 his report about French suburbs to the government. He introduces nineteen programs, each of them covering diverse topics such as education, sport, culture, mobility, justice, associations, discriminations, etc. More generally, it is a national plan of reconciliation. The fourth program is called “From school to educative city-state”, which aims to gather colleges, schools and all the stakeholders ready to support children’s education. If accepted by the President, several active measures will be taken: the election of the educative city-state whom will have a larger autonomy, a significant increase of the budget, creation of “breakfast club”, free canteen for youth of the program “school succeeds”, the creation of medical pole. Also, an educative solidarity funds (300 million euros) will help poor municipalities to finance invests like the improvement of the program “school succeed” (PRE to PRE+), the establishment of an emergency plan for the Priority Neighbourhood, double the supervision rate, construction of new innovating buildings. Another measure will be the “Big Educative Project”, a contract that State, municipalities, departments, regions, etc. will engage them to mobilize all the ways to recreate the conditions of attractiveness and cultural openings needed.
