The Regional Observatory of Integration and of the City (ORIV) of is a resources center on issues relating to the integration of immigrant populations, the prevention of discrimination and, the social and territorial cohesion. Its purpose is to develop and raise awareness around these three topics. The idea maintained is that migration is a singular experience affecting parental function as it can lead to family restructuration and/or a breaking point with the cultural framework. On top of these difficulties, can be added the boundaries of language. Hence ORIV brings out the important need to undertake specific measures, taking into an account the specificity of these parents, for the public policies to take actions in order to give them the best support. Therefore, this approach and methodology will pay a particular attention to the fragile public: attention to the type of actions put in place, the way the information is spread, actions toward the whole family and not only towards women/mothers, work on transmission’s stakes, avoid any type of culturalism, etc. Parents need to benefits from all of those actions and, to be able to express their resources, skills and capacities of adaptation.
