NALA Family Learning Activities
The involvement of the NALA in Family learning programmes in Ireland constitutes a project all of itself. As part of this, NALA provides a range of different projects and activities related to family learning initiatives.
Key outputs arising from this area are identified elsewhere in this document, including “Help my kid learn” and “Taking care of family literacy work”. The resources available at https://www.nala.ie/what-we-do/advance-policy/family-literacy, however, provide a range of insights into additional aspects of family learning approaches in Ireland, particularly in relation to “DEIS” (Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools) schools in Ireland, which would typically be schools specifically designed for students who would come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The work of NALA with additional stakeholders is also listed here and provides insights into the types of organisations that would potentially have a role in family learning.
This section also refers to the role of NALA in Family Learning Conferences in Ireland. In the links below inuformationm can be fou8nbd on the conferences taken place in 2016 and 2017, as well as findings from the 2012 family learning conference.
